Entertainment Industry in India – An Emerging Economy

Entertaining is a kind of mental act that grants enjoyment and joy to an audience or just simply holds the interest and attention of an individual. It can either be a task or an idea, however the most common event or topic that has developed over time for the sole purpose of maintaining an audience’s interest is theater. For entertainment, theater is considered as the most popular medium of spreading ideas, acting out dramatic plays and giving performances. In some cases, people also consider theatre as a mode of non-verbal communication, where people convey feelings in a more natural way through body language.

Entertaining is also a generic term that pertains to the aesthetic sense that encourages and supports the movement of people in various events such as plays, operas, dance shows and concerts. Entertainment as a concept has been developed since the start of artistic expression. In the past, most people associated theatre with Greek theatre, the so-called ‘theatrical’ art, which was popular among aristocrats during that period. Over time, this concept began to change its definition from classical to modern assumptions and eventually became what we know today as mass media entertainment, which refers to any type of entertainment, interactive and aesthetically appealing that can be viewed by wide public.
