Entertaining is a broad term that basically holds the attention of an audience and/or gives enjoyment and joy to an individual. This may be an artistic idea or an activity but more often than not, is more often than not one of those activities or events which have grown over the centuries specifically for the express purpose of maintaining an entertained audience’s interest. One good example is a musical. It requires a good composer, an experienced singer or dancer, and a set of instrumental music to support it. And just like any other entertainment, it requires careful planning, creative thinking, a well-developed plan and a suitable venue. But more often than not, these elements are missing from most contemporary entertainment venues.
Entertainment is necessary for healthy living but it is not the only component of a healthy life. A healthy and dynamic environment in which entertainment can take place can actually be the cause of happiness and joy instead of simply providing entertainment. A study conducted recently claims that happiness and joy are actually contagious – so this means that our negative reactions towards the entertainment we watch, listen to or experience (such as sadness pulls another person away from the television, music that makes us happy makes another person happier) is actually contagious!
What happens when Entertainement becomes a victim of its own success? Simple. When Entertainement changes form from the source of inspiration (aesthetic, creative or dramatic) to become something else (business, selling, advertising) it changes the very nature of that particular source of inspiration and therefore of the life it could have led to. The life it could have led to then can become one that is less inspiring, less joyous, less motivating, less exciting or enjoyable and instead become a dead end job, a drudgery and a pain. So, when Entertainement changes form, it can become the victim of its own success.
When I was young, my parents used to make fun of my enjoyment of watching television shows. They would say that I should be more focused on the things that were important to me like the stars, the buildings, the teams and the competitions. It seemed like every time I turned around they had something new to show me. Entertaining, for them, was something that had to be hidden, sanitized and put in the closet where no one would ever find it.
It is interesting that as Entertainement has become more associated with entertainment, it has lost its meaning and purpose. It’s no longer about being entertained by the movies, it’s now about being entertained by the brands, the music and the glamour that these items could provide. While some may still believe that being entertained by something other than entertainment will lead to happiness and fulfillment, studies have shown otherwise. In fact, studies have shown that people who get their pleasure from watching television programs and movies are happier with their lives than those who get their pleasure from Entertainement. People who choose Entertainement as their form of entertainment are actually happier with their lives than those who choose entertainment by watching television shows.
There are many reasons why people love Entertainement. Many people enjoy being entertained by movies, while others like music or the latest sports game or reality show. It all comes down to what your personal preference is when it comes to entertainment. You can choose Entertainement to help you relax or you can choose the newest fad in fashion for a change.
